Overheard the other day...

Joshua: When I grow up, I want to be a mailman.
Elizabeth: When I grow up, I want to be a doctor.
James: When I grow up, I want to be a tomato.
************************************
We try to teach the kids to ask for things nicely instead of always saying "I want". Like we don't want them to say "I want dessert" it should be "can I have dessert please?" The kids are starting to get it but they are still mixing it up a little. Like Elizabeth who often says things like this "Can I want dessert please?"

Our au pair (Marion)shared these stories:
We played hide and seek…
James: …nine, ten, eleventeen...then after he finished counting, he said: hey, where did everybody go???
********************************
She worked on a Friday night and put the kids to bed…
Marion: James, you need a number five at night right? (meaning his diaper size)
He held his hand up to give me a high five!
**********************************
Marion and the kids were practicing sc, sp, st – words, so she said: skunk
The kids repeated: skunk
Marion: scarf, school etc.
Suddenly Joshua said excited: spurple!
Marion: that’s starts with a p Joshua!
********************************
Marion and the kids were at the park and James saw a truck.
James: See guys, but this is not a garbage truck!
Joshua: no, it’s not Wednesday(which is our garbage day)!
James: yeah, it’s Thursday!
Marion: actually, it’s Friday!
