Backyard

So while James and I put together the kids' new playground, the kids asked if they could pick oranges off of the tree. We let them (which helped to keep them busy so we could finish without hearing, "is it ready yet?" "can we play now?" 20 MORE times!)

Here's a picture of the tree when they were done. Notice there is no fruit at the bottom? That's as high as they can reach!

There were sooooo many oranges!!!!

So then the boys and I juiced a bunch! Not with a juicer or anything, just our hands!!!

I wished I would've taken a picture of all the oranges first, but I didn't think about it. Here's a picture of how many oranges we had left

after juicing all of these!!!!

and here's the container of juice:

the BEST part is after we did all of this Joshua says "I don't like orange juice."

Nice.

Reading!!!

James was doing such a great job reading that I grabbed the camera to tape it. Joshua is helping (like he likes to do!!!)

Cleaning out the camera!

I plugged my camera in and noticed that it's been a while since I've looked at the pictures! I have some old pictures on here! So I decided to post some for you!

The first official lost tooth! What does the tooth fairy do with these?!

The kids dressed as turkeys for their Kindergarten Thanksgiving Program!

The newest addition to our backyard. Happy Early Birthday!

Spring Break!!!

I have had such a great Spring Break this year (and I still have a few days left!!!) It first started with our former Au Pair, Marion, coming for a 2 week visit!!! Then this week we went to the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) with my mom. It was interesting although it didn't hold the kids' interests as long as I would have liked… We've played outside in the GREAT weather we've been having, had picnics, we went the movie theater and saw "The Lorax".

My husband and I had a "date day" on Wednesday. We went walking around an outdoor mall, sat and played card games, went to the Phoenix Art Museum, went to a farmers' market, and ate from some food trucks. It was so much fun! The best part was just being able to hang out with my amazing husband and have a carefree day!

We still have a lot to do during this Spring Break—tomorrow is the kids' birthday. We are going to Benihana's for lunch and on Saturday we are having a party for them at Peter Piper Pizza! I promise to post pictures after those two events!

2011

So here are a few things from 2011 that I wrote down to blog about:

Elizabeth referred to a u-turn as a “we-turn” (because we all were in the van :))

Here are some song lyrics my kids butchered:
instead of "ain't no hollerback girl"
they would sing "ain't no batman girl"

A conversation between Joshua and James:
Joshua: When you grow up are you going to be allergic to dogs and cats?
James: No. Only pigeons.
Joshua: Ok. My city doesn't have any pigeons. Only birds.

And over Christmas break James told me "I need to wake up and smell the starbugs". When I asked him where he heard that he told me his teacher says that :)

Let’s try this again…

So this year my new year's resolution was going to be to not make any new year's resolutions, but then I thought about my blog! I guess this still doesn't have to be a new year's resolution, but something I am going to try really hard to do. I want to write something on my blog at least once a month. That's my goal J
